Okay, so we’re back to a full recap. But I’m going to try to make these shorter. It’s just… IDK if I’ll be successful. If I had to bet, I’d say I probably won’t be, but we’ll just have to find out, won’t we?

Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night? )

Tune in next week for more wacky Heroes adventures!

And you thought I'd forgotten…

And there were some of you who'd questioned whether I'd even done it!

But I promised that I’d put this up before the premier of season 3, so I won’t disappoint. However, if I do, you should pretend to be amused anyway. Seriously, just act like it’s funny and all will be well. [info]cookie_simone thinks that no one cares about this anymore and that I’m just wasting my time. But I think she’s just being elitist since she’s already seen the first episode. I theorize that this will help build excitement for those of us not so lucky. Plus, if this season starts out right where we left off, it’s good to get ourselves back in the mood. So, without further ado, I bring you guys the long awaited “Powerless” recap! A word of warning: I was not all that impressed by this episode (but really, when do I ever agree with any of you on this sort of thing? That’s right: never). I basically consider it a fangirl payoff. And I am not a fangirl. But whatever—here you are:

I can only assume they meant ‘…to stop it.’ )

PS: I know that some of you have already seen and/or read spoilers for the first episode of season 3 and that perhaps some of my musings have been proven wrong already. In fact, given my track record, I’m pretty much sure that most, if not all, of them have been. All I ask is that you don’t spoil me in comments. I am firmly anti-spoiler and I’d like to be able to remain that way. Thanks for your understanding. And I hope you enjoyed my 12 pages of rambling fun. These things are always a blast for me and I look forward to many more of them over the next several months. Cheers!

So . . . wow. Just . . . wow. I have just rewatched and I still don’t have the words to describe what I’m feeling, here. This episode is just as badass as last week’s was. But, whereas last week had me in full-blown squee mode, this week I am simply stupefied. Words are failing me. THIS IS NOT GOOD PEOPLE, BECAUSE I WILL NEED WORDS TO WRITE THIS RECAP, Y/Y? I can already tell that when I get the DVDs for this season, I will be required to watch “Cautionary Tales”, “Truth and Consequences”, and “Powerless” back to back to back. It is a statutory requirement. Well, technically, it’s a bill—but it’s already received congressional approval, so it just has to be signed into law before it will become binding. And even if it’s vetoed, we have the votes necessary to overturn it. This is not a fabrication.

My American History Professor Would Be So Proud I Remember All This Stuff )

So, apparently, this season is all about the payoff. I’m glad, because it was touch and go for a while there. Why isn’t it Monday yet?

Dear Heroes,

This? This episode right here? This is quite possibly my favorite episode of all time. It took things that were mock-worthy and suck . . . and it turned them into pure unadulterated joy. A word of warning: my squee-age knows no bounds. This episode recap will contain far less snark and other variant forms of sarcastic humor than has typically been my custom. I apologize, but it is difficult for me to mock something I love. To compensate, I will try to joke about things I adore . . . I hope it all works out, but I guarantee nothing!

If your name is K, you may want to avoid this cut altogether . . . it amounts to a love fest. I’m truly sorry. )
P.S.: I deeply apologize for the tardiness of this post. As I’d feared, my aunt’s house has little in the way of ambient wireless signals. I can’t even fathom what my flist must look like. But that is the next project. All I can say is that I promise next week’s review will be up a lot sooner than this one was. And that my cousins’ babies are positively adorable.

I’m back!!!!!!! These last four days have been a brutal tax on my overall existence and my hydro paper pretty much sucks, but it’s done! It’s over! And now I can go back to ignoring school for you guys, rather than the other way around. Sure, I may have an outline for my structure paper due tomorrow, but who’d like to take bets on whether or not that will get done. If so, let me know what the odds on “no” are, because I think I’d like to lay some money down. Also, I’m about as tired as I could possibly be, so this might become a rather interesting post. But I will press on, my friends! I have been gone too long to turn back now!

So, while I was gone a couple of things happened. Cookie made her first post (and don’t think I’ve forgotten about that my dear; you’ll be hearing from me shortly)! Oh, and there was this little show called Heroes . . .

Back when it was summer. And there was no school. And I was happy. )

Oh, Heroes--you may not be able to keep your chronologies straight, but you make for one hell of an entertaining evening! And I have kept this under ten pages, as was my goal! Double Win!!

Self Congratulatory Bows are in Order

This episode was the shiz-nit! There are no other valid opinions, so I will not, for one second, entertain them. I’ve even upgraded Parkman from “triple sell” to “don’t buy!” And, best of all, a few of my non-spoiler-ed predictions have come to pass (hence the bows). What are (were) they? Why the inconceivable Parkman statement? What the hell do Sylar and the Death Twins have to do with any of this? All this and more (well maybe not this last one, just yet--although I do have my theories on that, too) to come as we discuss . . .

Like me and my hydro paper )

Okay, so there was far less snark this week, but it did nothing to shorten the length of my recap. I hope you’ve all got popcorn, or something. This one might take awhile.

Seriously, this was a major problem for me as a child. And for all I know, it would still be a problem. I am just not that patient for those types of things. But I digress.

It's Heroes time again, and my sleep schedule has in no way been destroyed. I absolutely did not just awaken from a five-hour nap, despite the rumors you may have heard. But discussions about my slumber are neither here nor there, what we really need is a recap.

And as long as we're talking about things that certainly are not the case, these recaps are not, not getting longer and longer every week. It must be your imagination, because I have no idea what you are talking about. I honestly thought that this was going to be a short recap when I finished watching the first time; I really liked the episode but didn't think I'd have a lot to say about it. Boy, was I wrong. But let's not bore you with the introductions; we need to get down to business. So, without further delay, let's discuss:

Hooray for school responsibilities having been addressed and therefore temporarily forestalled! No more committee meetings until I defend! No more midterms until, well, two weeks from now! And no labs to grade this week! All these things make moles happy! And so, I will ignore the crippling fatigue to bring you the following reaction:

Wait, how did I have time to watch the show if I was studying? )

Snark (and Micah) aside, I enjoyed it. This is two weeks in a row that I've come away pleased with the progress of this season. Let's make a regular habit of this satisfaction.

Well, since the entire point of this account was to completely destroy my productivity by fully immersing myself into the wonderful world of HMM, it seems only fitting that I try to post my episode reactions. Now, I should admit upfront that I didn't have as many problems with the first two episodes that so many other seem to have had. I'm not sick of Hiro in Japan or Pete in Ireland (terrible accents aside). I'm not even sick of Claire, which is really more a testament to Hayden's acting ability than anything else (because damn NBC--I know you got more than you thought when you cast her, but she really doesn't need to be in every other scene. And nobody likes West. At all. Nobody). But, I guess they've got to keep her storyline moving so we can get to the whole "is Noah gonna die?" business, so I s'pose I'll cut them a little slack. For now.

Kindred, however, was another matter. Don't get me wrong; I liked the Sylar/Candice (I won't be calling her Michelle--and she's dead now, so who cares?) scenes. I enjoyed the Darth Peter scene, as well. But the rest of the episode was agonizingly protracted and that flying scene was fraught with the worst special effects this show has ever offered up. Suffice it to say, my patience was beginning to wane. And so, I actually came into this episode with a bit of trepidation and ambivalence about just where this season was headed, which was a first for me. Luckily, to paraphrase Blanche DuBois, "I can always depend on . . ."

The Kindness of Strangers )

All in all, this was a very solid episode. It felt like something from the middle of last season, which I appreciate. Good show, writers, good show. Now keep it up!

I am,
