Yes, that's my Kentucky Wildcats. They've been making this sound for much of the season, and they've only gotten louder in recent weeks. I have no illusions of them making the NCAA Tournament, not since they lost their last four games going into the SEC Tournament. Pretty much the most interesting thing left will be seeing whether or not they accept the NIT bid they're sure to receive (I would—I mean, it's money for the school). Anyhow, I figured I should open up the floor to mockery, since it's sure to come my way.
In better sports news, spring has been kind to my White Sox, thus far. Both the 2,000 year-old Jose Contreras and the 2,000 lb Bartolo Colon are way ahead of schedule in coming back from their injuries. Contreras might even be able to take starts in April! If Clayton Richard is your fifth pitcher, and not your fourth, I feel a whole lot better about the rotation. And this Gordon Beckham kid is unbelievable, if spring numbers are to be believed. I'm not thrilled with any of our myriad infielders (Alexei and Paul excluded), so if Becks were able to steal the 2nd base slot, I would not mind. Unfortunately, it seems that my never-ending quest to make Brian Anderson the starting center fielder will continue yet again, this year. IDK what the deal is, he looks more than adequate to me, but the team doesn't seem to like him for some reason. If Jerry Owens starts in center on opening day, I will probably puke.
In even better news, tomorrow is my birthday. Which birthday it is isn't important, but I feel happy, nevertheless. Tonight we go to a nice little French bistro where I shall order l'oignon, erm, soup, la biftek avec pomme frites, and some good-ass French wine (take that, high school French class!)… and probably some yummy dessert, too.
'Kay, that's all I've got right now.
